In the course of the discussion I mentioned rabbits and shushed and told it was unlucky to name them, and locally they were referred to as Bexhill Donkeys. I have come across numerous nautical supersitions but never this one and would be interested in it's derivation. |

The map is the Ordance Survey of 1880. REPLY: In reply to Jenny Wilson. It was a big house with lodge and a cottage which a relative of mine lived in. In 1895 the castle and land were taken over by Brighton and Preston cemetry. The cemetry is quite hilly and the castle was where the chapel was built. Pauline |
